Assistance focusing on the protection of human life and health from food borne risks arising from additives, contaminants, toxins, or disease-causing organisms in foods and beverages.
Description
Topics covered by food safety assistance include inter alia: control measures for food additives and contaminants; methods of analysis and sampling; food hygiene; food import and export inspection and certification systems; residues of veterinary drugs in foods; food irradiation technology, application of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system in the food-processing industry and pesticide residues in foods.
