WTO Symposium on the TRIPS agreement and the National Judiciary - Symposium de l'OMC sur l'Accord sur les ADPIC et la juridiction nationale - Simposio de la OMC sobre el Acuerdo sobre los ADPIC y judicial nacional
Description

The Symposium will be organized for IP judges from developing countries and countries with economies in transition.

It aims at familiarizing participants with the TRIPS Agreement and related WTO dispute settlement, and updating them on important policy issues under negotiation or discussion in the WTO.

It will strengthen the exchange of information on relevant national or regional judicial experiences, in particular related to the implications and impact of the TRIPS Agreement.

It will also encourage the establishment and strengthening of contacts between participants and the WTO Secretariat for continuing dialogue and cooperation in the area of intellectual property.
