The main objectives of the seminar is to address the limited knowledge of the Agricultural Officers on the WTO Agreement on Agriculture by improving their understanding of: the provisions of the Agreement as well as the related implementation obligations; the work of the Agriculture Committee; the various transparency tools, including the Ag-IMS data system, that are available to them to follow the relevant developments and discussions in the domain of agriculture as well as to access the official documents. Participants will also be exposed to the key issues that have been considered in the agriculture negotiations including the outcomes reached on some of those issues at the last three Ministerial Conferences. The Seminar should facilitate a more effective participation of the beneficiary countries in the work of the Committee on Agriculture and in the agriculture negotiations.
