High-level e-Regulations Forum on Business and Investment Facilitation in Africa
Description
The complexity of administrative rules and procedures are a major deterrent to private sector development and investment in Africa. Simplifying the regulatory environment, improving administrative governance and developing incentives to respect the law could stimulate entrepreneurship and company creation, provide more and better jobs, increase revenues and, therefore, enhance the capacity of the States to invest in the necessary economic, social and administrative infrastructures. The Forum will bring together high-level representatives from more than 15 African countries, to examine good practices and exchange successful experiences in modernizing the business environment, through transparency, simplification and the publicity of rules. A special focus will be put on formalizing micro-enterprises, which provide employment for a majority of the African population.
