Description
The 9th session of the IAC will brainstorm on practical means to leverage foreign direct investment in LDCs and increase its contribution to their development. The meeting will build on the 8th IAC session, held during the UNCTAD World Investment Forum 2010, which called for the creation of new business models that encourage foreign investors to invest in LDCs, that is to "invest in the poor, for the poor and with the poor". This requires a new partnership between governments, TNCs, international organizations and the civil society.
