WTO Advanced Thematic Course on Regionalism - Level 3 - Specialist
Description
This course, organized by the RTAs Section of the TPRD, is included in the 2014/2015 TA Plan. Implemented within the PLS, the course represents the highest level among WTO training activities and is targeted at participants who already possess a sound knowledge of the general features of the WTO system and the rules and procedure applying to RTAs. The Course will encourage active involvement of participants and address key issues relating to RTAs such as transparency, data availability and negotiations. The course comprises sessions and practical exercises on the implementation of the WTO rules and procedures relating to RTAs and their relation with the MTS. It includes interactive sessions and exercises on the application of such rules and procedures and attendance of a regular meeting of the CRTA, so that participants become familiar with the Committee's work in practice and are made aware of the importance of notifications and transparency in the Committee process. Participants will be invited to compare their experiences, including with representatives from Geneva delegations.
Notes/Key results
This course is opened to 25 participants from WTO Members and Observers and to 5 participants from Regional Secretariats, upon selection.
