West Africa: Strengthening capacity in market analysis for sector prioritization within ECOWAS (PACT II)
Description
As part of the overall PACT II program, this activity is designed to build capacity of ECOWAS and West African TSI staff in assessing export potential. The project will involve an initial workshop to introduce the export potential methodology and to assign "homework" to participants selected from arond the region. The participants will the develop their own export potential analyses, either at the country or regional level over the following 2-3 months. Finally, the participants will come together with ITC analysts again to present their drafts. The deliverable is an export potential report identifying promising sectors and providing some assessment of supply capacity in the region. This deliverable will be an input into sector selection and a sector development plan to be developed by the ES business line as part of PACT II.
