WTO Regional Training Course for Civil Society
Description
Workshop for the Civil Society for Arab and Middle East Countries - Current and Future Challenges of the WTO: Civil Society and Business Perspectives - English - The seminar aims at giving an overview of the usefulness of the WTO rules and functions to CSOs, including the private sector in the Arab world; it will also discuss the current challenges facing the Doha Round of Negotiations. Participants will have the opportunity to deliberate on the difficulties of Intra Arab trade as well as the impact of the current Economic crisis on trade in the region. They will have an insight on the role of the WTO in fighting protectionism. The accession of Arab countries to the WTO will also be debated. Last but not least, Participants are invited to provide their own perspective on the future of trade and the WTO.
