Description
The Workshop is organized at the request of the Government of Malaysia by the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC) in cooperation with the Agriculture and Commodities Division (AGCD). It offers specialized training to capital-based government officials with direct responsibility in the preparation and/or analysis of notifications under the Agreement on Agriculture. The Workshop combines lectures from the AGCD trainer, practical exercises and case studies and provides a platform to discuss specific technical issues faced by the requesting Member in preparing and analysing agriculture notifications. In view of the specific challenges faced by Malaysia in preparing notification in the area of domestic support, a focused discussion on the rules under the domestic support pillar and the interaction of those rules with Malaysia's domestic agricultural policies will be organized so as to offer targeted TA towards an improved compliance in this area.
