Description

This mission is in response to the specific request for technical assistance by the Government of the Lebanese Republic. The objective of the mission is to assist the Government of the Lebanese Republic in the preparation of the documentary basis for the resumption of the Working Party process in Lebanon's accession in early 2017. The programme of the visit includes meetings with the senior officials of the Government of the Lebanese Republic and, technical working sessions on the preparation of the negotiating inputs.

By the end of the activity, the revised draft Report of the Working Party on the Accession of the Lebanese Republic, as well as other negotiating inputs, shall be produced and finalised. This documentation, once approved by the Government of the Lebanese Republic with domestic stakeholders, shall be submitted to the Secretariat, for circulation to Members of the Working Party, whose meeting is preliminarily envisaged for April.
