ITC has been very active in the Mekong region in recent years. As a result, good prospects exist for continued ITC involvement in new projects and programmes in the region in the future. However, being a non-resident UN organization, ITC is not in the position to participate actively in consultations in the field with the resident donor organizations and Government counterparts on priority setting for new programmes. As a result, it is at a disadvantage, vis-à-vis resident UN organizations, to benefit from these potential sources of funding. The purpose of this W1 is to ensure participation in relevant consultations with donors and beneficiaries in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, identify new - and follow-up to - existing opportunities as well as facilitate effective resource mobilization through the local presence of ITC consultants based in the respective countries.
