Project Development - Engaging women vendors in the tourism value chain in the Pacific
|
Description
The project aims at designing and mobilizing resources for a large-scale
initiative aimed at improving livelihoods by empowering Pacific women to
participate in the tourism sector.
The goal is to address gender inequality and poverty by fostering employment,
alternative livelihood options and income for women in the Pacific region.
Integration into regional trade and development of exports will be a key outcome
of the project, along with an increased understanding of supply chains, value
chains and the international trading system.
The project will primarily target cruise ship tourists calling on various ports
in Vanuatu and Tonga.
