The Market Insider (MI) is a key component of ITC’s global public goods contributing to ITC's strategic objectives by enabling TSIs and business decision makers in developing countries to make better informed decisions through the provision of real time market intelligence on selected products and sectors that are or strategic importance to their countries. The ITC Market Insider is aligned to ITC’s Strategic Plan and Programme Delivery Response (2010-2013) and ITC’s new Strategic framework 2012-2015. The programme addresses the following ITC’s strategic objectives : - Building awareness: Improve availability and use of trade intelligence - Enhance trade support institutions - Supporting enterprises - Mainstreaming inclusiveness and sustainability The Market Insider programme will complement ITC’s work in the sector development and trade intelligence areas by providing just-in-time forward-looking intelligence in anticipation of trends to businesses and trade support institutions via ITC’s News Alerts’ platform as well as provision to non-web users of content by email, as well as innovative mobile solutions and in special circumstances, hard copy. The project will contribute to the building of capacity in TSIs and TPOs trade information services and export promotion departments to draw on available information, supplemented by nationally collected information, to produce customized market news bulletins and contribute content to the Market Insider service, based on established quality benchmarks and terms of reference.
