WTO Introductory Trade Policy Course for LDCs - Cours de politique commericale introductif sur l'OMC en faveur des PMAs - Curso de política comercial introductivo sobre la OMC a favor de los PMA
Description

The course represents a level 1 activity of the WTO's 3-level Progressive Learning Strategy for trade-related capacity-building and, once completed, serves as a prerequisite for level 2 courses.

This course introduces participants to the WTO, its basic rules and disciplines and its functioning. The main objective is to provide participants with a good foundation of the functioning, structure and basic principles of the WTO.  This is done mainly through presentations and exercises on the WTO's basic principles and exceptions thereto, as reflected in the main WTO agreements. The development dimension constitutes an important element of the programme, including highlighting the decisions that have been adopted in favour of the LDCs since the launch of the DDA.
