WTO Regional Government Procurement Workshop for Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus Countries - English
Description
This Workshop will address policy-related issues on government procurement both generally and as they relate to trade. A further important focus will be on accession to and implementation of the Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA) and related policy issues, recognising that several countries in the region are either negotiating, or have undertaken commitments to seek, accession to the Agreement, in addition to other that have joined the GPA in recent years. Its purpose is to inform participants of WTO activities in this area, to provide a forum for both trade and procurement experts to exchange views and perspectives on national, bilateral, regional and multilateral trade-related activities and initiatives in the area of government procurement, and to facilitate policy development and decision making in this area. Particular attention will be given to the revised GPA which entered into force in April 2014.
