Description
The workshop will address the following themes: (i) the key obligations of the GATS and regional trade agreements and their application to telecommunication services; (ii) market and regulatory trends in telecommunication services; (iii) regional and developing country experiences with telecommunications reform; (iv) reflecting existing measures in the sector into a service schedule format. The themes will be treated through presentations, case studies, as well as practical exercises and discussions with participants. In addition, the workshop will include a session on services statistics, and a discussion on the region’s WTO technical assistance needs. The workshop will be conducted in English.
