The general aim of the seminar is to enable participants to obtain a better understanding of the provisions of the Agreement on Agriculture, including the notification requirements, so as to effectively implement the relevant agricultural commitments within the domestic policy setting. The participants will also be exposed to the key issues being considered in the agriculture negotiations including the outcomes reached on some of those issues at the last two Ministerial Conferences at Bali and Nairobi respectively. The seminar should facilitate a more effective participation of the beneficiary countries in the work of the Committee on Agriculture and in the agriculture negotiations. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the various transparency tools, including the Ag-IMS datasystem, that are available to them to follow the relevant developments and discussions in the domain of agriculture as well as to access the official documents.
