The Workshop aims to assist Asian developing Members' investigating authorities to further develop their technical capacity to conduct countervailing and safeguards investigations in a fair and efficient manner, in conformity with WTO rules. Asian countries are among the world's leading users of safeguard measures (amounting for more than 60% of all measures imposed since 2010), and most major Asian users have also begun to use countervail or are considering to do so.
