Description
To support the bi-annual hosting of the World Trade Promotion Organisation (WTPO) Conference and hold ITC's WTPO awards. The WTPO Conference is seen as a key flagship event of ITC, providing examples of current best practice in trade promotion organizations (TPOs) and fostering international TSI knowledge networks, linking developing and developed countries. ITC’s World TPO Awards are held concurrently. Open to all national TPOs, the biennial awards recognise the achievement and reward the success of TPOs; stimulate active networking and the sharing of “best practice”; and encourage innovative TPO approaches and initiatives to increase sustainable trade. The host TPO supports the Awards financially, while ITC manages the Awards process. The project links strongly with the development of a TPO benchmarking and certification programme, and also the capacity building of regional TPO networks to multiply impact. There are also links to ITC’s other flagship event, the World Export Development Forum (WEDF).
