Advanced Workshop on the GATS and the Services Negotiations for Caribbean Countries - Level 3 - Specialist - English - The Workshop will offer training on the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) and the ongoing services discussions in Geneva at an advanced level. Presentations will focus on the GATS-provisions relevant to current trade issues such as enhancing services trade opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, electronic commerce and IT-enabled trade, taking into account country-specific objectives. Related scheduling and classification issues will be explored as a means to enhancing capacity to negotiate commitments in the areas concerned. Participants will be invited to prepare presentations concerning their national profile/interests on topics to be covered by the workshop. In addition, various interactive exercises are intended to complement and deepen understanding of these topics.
