WTO Regional Workshop on Accessions
Description
Second China round table on WTO Accessions for Least-developed countries (LDCs): The Future of the Multilateral Trading System: Perspectives of LDCs and Article XII Members - English - The purpose of this Round Table is to examine of the key changes in the world trade; and to explore the way forward in safeguarding and strengthening the Multilateral Trading System, from the perspectives of LDCs and Article XII Members. The discussion will revolve around: the contemporary development of in the world trade; contributions of WTO Accessions to the rule-based system; macroeconomic implications of WTO accessions; the future of the Multilateral Trading System; effective participation of Article XII Members and acceding governments; and technical assistance for the LDC acceding governments. "The Second China Round Table" is one of the three components of the "China's LDCs and Accessions Programme" (the China Programme) established by the Government of China in July 2011 and renewed in 2012.
