The purpose of the Workshop is to: (i) provide post-accession support for Liberia, including preparations for notifications and internal coordination for efficient implementation of accession commitments from Day 1 of WTO membership; (ii) facilitate exchange of experiences for Liberia and Afghanistan (whose WTO accessions packages were approved by Ministers at a same venue, MC10) to mutually support their Post-Accession stage; and, (ii) prepare Liberia for UNCTAD XIV, particularly, for high-level Post-Accession Forum on 19 July, where the Director-General Azevêdo participates together with, inter alia, H.E. Mr. Axel Addy, WTO accession Chief Negotiator, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Republic of Liberia; Mukhisa Kituyi, UNCTAD Secretary-General.
