Strengthening the pineapple export value chain in selected West African countries - Programme development
|
Description
This project aims to support pineapple producers and exporters from five West African countries, by enhancing their capacity to reach regional markets. The selected countries are Benin, Ghana, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, and Guinea Conakry. They were selected based on their pineapple export potential, using Benin as lead pilot. An ITC integrated programme approach will be effective, bringing three technical sections together to combine their support to a single sector supply-chain, in coordination with the Office for Africa (OA). The programme provides the opportunity to implement an integrated approach. South-South trade will work on all countries, while the Beninese pineapple supply-chain will also be specifically supported to improve its’ businesses' access to finance, and information and communication technology (ICT) usage for enterprise competitiveness.
