The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) learned that the WTO was organizing a national seminar on the Agreement on Agriculture for Government officials in San Salvador, El Salvador. Considering the WTO would be present in El Salvador, IICA requested us to participate in two one-day workshops organized by them together with USAID. Both workshops are directly related with the strategic line of capacity building in trade with the expected result that the related ministries and entities linked to agricultural trade of the member countries of the Central American Agricultural Council have updated information about the WTO and that it helps strengthen their capabilities in the area of international trade agreements. At the same time, this activity is linked to the flagship project on Competitiveness and Sustainability of Agricultural Chains for Food Security and Economic Development of the IICA directly related to the political and institutional component in the alliance between the WTO and IICA. USAID will be covering the per diem for the two days of the training.
