The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the ITC have entered into a contractual agreement for ITC to provide advisory services to strengthen the capacity of Apex-Brasil to upgrade its Trade Intelligence Unit. The consultancy services entailed by this contract shall empower Apex-Brasil to build a new trade intelligence platform. Building upon the input provided by the ITC and making use of artificial intelligence tools available in the market, Apex-Brasil will be able to develop a groundbreaking trade intelligence platform. Such platform shall be fully customized to its needs, and capable of conducting automated research, in a permanent and qualified manner, not only in English but in Portuguese as well. With this new trade intelligence platform, Apex-Brasil will be better equipped to respond to the needs of its external clients, be them business associations, be them exporting companies or potential exporters. Additionally, Apex-Brasil will be able to reach countless companies, providing them with up-to-date and precise information on business opportunities in foreign markets. ITC will provide advisory services to assist Apex-Brasil in conceptualizing, designing and building its new trade intelligence platform. ITC’s deliveries are clearly defined in 21 projects outputs, as agreed in the contract signed with Apex-Brasil in July 2008. Originally in force until January 2010, the contract was extended by an Amendment to the Contract until 30 June 2010, signed on 12 November 2009.
