The Mission has two components: (1) a series of bilateral meetings between the WTO representative from the Accessions Division and the Azerbaijan government officials in various ministries and potentially other stakeholders over the course of the Mission; and (2) attend the launch of the EU-funded program “Support and Strengthening Capacity of the Trade Policy and WTO Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the WTO Accession Negotiations” on 8 June 2018. The objectives of this Mission are to provide more detailed information on the current situation with the WTO accession process, procedures, experience of other countries, etc. At the same time, the bilateral meetings with the interested stakeholders will serve as a forum to discuss the possible impact and role of WTO membership on economic integration process.
