WTO support to the WTO Chairs Programme (WCP)  holders will be implemented through the provision of an annual grant and close monitoring by the Secretariat of their performance under each of the three pillars of the programme.   

The objective of the third pillar of the WCP is to increase the visibility and influence of academic research and reach out to decision makers.  Interaction with policy makers may also feed back into the research performed by the Chairs and make it more relevant to the political agenda of the day.
