WTO Chairs Programme (WCP) 2014 Conference: "The Way Forward for a Successful Partnership"
Long description
Four years after the launch of the WTO Chairs Programme (WCP) in February 2010, the first phase of the partnerships between the WTO and the academic institutions hosting a WTO Chair comes to an end. The first phase of the WTO Chair Programme will officially be closed at the occasion of a conference that takes place at the WTO Secretariat in Geneva on February 11 and 12. At the event an edited volume will be launched that is titled “Connecting to Global Markets: Challenges and Opportunities” and that contains 14 case studies prepared by the WTO Chair holders. The conference also provides the opportunity to wrap up the 2013 exercise and discuss the operational framework proposed by the WTO Secretariat for the future collaboration with Chair holders of the first phase. This framework reflects recommendations made by the Advisory Board and Chair holders during previous WCP Annual Conferences. The second day of the conference programme is dedicated to discussions with the Chairs on their future work in the context of the WTO Chair Programme. The programme notably foresees presentations by individual chairs of project proposals for future work under the WCP programme.
