WTO-AUC Thematic Course on Trade in Services Statistics with Emphasis on Africa - Cours thématique de l'OMC sur les statistiques du commerce des services, avec un accent particulier sur l'Afrique, en coopération avec l'Union africaine - Curso temático de la OMC sobre estadísticas del comercio de servicios, con especial hincapié sobre África, en cooperación con la Unión Africana

The course is targeted at trade in services statisticians who are directly involved in the collection and/or compilation of trade in services statistics, in particular in Africa, and who already possess a good knowledge of internationally-agreed standards in trade in services statistics, such as the IMF Balance of Payments Manual (BPM6), and the Manual on Statistics of International Trade in Services (MSITS2010).

Individual sessions, which will also include case studies and numerical exercises, will be dedicated to service sectors of trade interest in particular to Africa. To this extent, selected participants will be invited to submit concrete examples of difficulties faced in data collection, and to discuss possible solutions with experts from national statistical offices/Central Banks and/or international organizations.

Participants are expected to be actively involved at the course to share their challenges, discuss solutions, and expand their knowledge and skills.
