WTO Post-Trade policies review subregional workshop for the OECS - Level 2 - Generalist path
Description
The workshop's main purpose is to disseminate information to officials in the OECS member countries regarding the outcomes of the TPR of the OECS, which took place in June 2014. During this review, WTO Members identified a number of shortcomings and areas where improvement can be made with respect to notification obligations and the implementation of WTO agreements. Specific issues were identified for each of the six OECS countries. The Workshop is intended to be instrumental in facilitating the different Governments' reform agenda in the areas identified in the TPR by making the results of the TPR more widely available and identifying more clearly specific steps that need to be taken. Discussions will be held as to how to proceed to comply with WTO commitments and technical assistance needs will be identified. The final goal would be to put these reforms in place or at least under way before the next TPR in 2020.
