EIF Regional (AnglAfr) Workshop
A sub-regional workshop on the EIF is planned to take place in East and Southern Africa with the participation of three representatives each (EIF Focal Point, Donor Facilitator and a representative of the lead Ministry for the Poverty Reduction Strategy Programmes) from East and Southern African countries, to share their experience with the EIF process. The Workshop objectives are 1) to allow the Governments of participating countries from the sub-region to share experiences of the process of drafting the DTIS and implementation of the EIF; 2) to allow the Integrated Framework Executive Secretariat to assist the sub-region with the transition from the IF to the enhanced IF, in particular formulation of Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects and implementation of the M&E framework; and 3) to provide platforms to discuss how the EIF process can support the trade development and Aid for Trade agenda in the region. Representatives of international organizations such as ITC, UNCTAD, UNIDO, UNDP, World Bank and WTO as well as the AfDB are expected to participate in the meetings in addition to the EIF Executive Secretariat and the Trust Fund Manager (UNOPS). Bilateral donors and other countries in the sub-region will also be invited to participate.
