Description
The workshop's objective is to  increase participants' awareness and knowledge of the SPS Agreement and the role and functions of the SPS Committee, in particular to resolve SPS concerns. Furthermore, participants will improve their understanding on the scope of SPS measures commitments in relation with the WTO accession negotiation process. Belarus has not adopted any SPS commitments linked to WTO accession yet but has been asked to accept commitments in this area. In the negotiation process, the working group members have a number of questions in the field of SPS measures, and in relation with commitments adopted by Belarus similar to those adopted by Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, not currently implemented under the EEC framework. Finally, we will also aim to update the SPS chapter of the Accession Working Party Report
