The objective of the course is to describe and explain:

1. the role and functions of the WTO;
2. the legal framework of the Multilateral Trade System;
3. the relationship between the World International Property Organization (WIPO) and the WTO;
4. the basic principles of the Multilateral Trade System in trade in goods and show how these principles apply to TRIPS;
5. the legal framework governing the TRIPS Agreement;
6. Members' rights and obligations in the TRIPS Agreement.

Course level: Specialized course, intermediary level.

Pre-requisite: Proficiency in the course language.
