National Workshop on public policy issues related to the TRIPS Agreement" - Séminaire national sur les ADPIC - Seminario nacional sobre los ADPIC
Description
This is a national workshop for government officials in Cuba dealing with public policy issues related to the TRIPS Agreement. Its purpose is to provide participants with a greater understanding of the TRIPS Agreement and the multilateral IP regime it establishes. It will cover IP issues under negotiation or consideration in the TRIPS Council, such as the relationship between TRIPS and the CBD, geographical indications and non-violation complaints, as well as related WTO work. It will also explain policy options open to Cuba as a member of the WTO, particularly focusing on public health issues and covering the Doha Declaration on TRIPS Agreement and Public Health as well as the so-called paragraph 6 system.
